How the upholstery classes came to be
I started learning about upholstery in 2008, after having accidently enrolled on a certified course, instead of the leisure evening class I thought I had joined...
Becoming immersed in the craft and three years later, now qualified, I started work on upholstery commissions and teaching.
My particular interests include restoring pieces in a manner and style sympathetic to the era when they were made; iron back Victorian armchairs and signature designs.
The classes are held locally - usually in Romsey, and are all mixed ability. Because you will be working on your own project you can proceed at a pace which suits you, as well as learn more about upholstery through the varied collection of chairs, benches, stools and armchairs being worked on by others in each session.
